Our Values

Sow, Root, & Grow

  • Sow seeds of the good news

    • We sow seeds of the good news of Jesus everywhere we go because we believe that Jesus is the good news for the entire world.

  • Sow seeds of invitation

    • We invite and welcome all people into our church because we believe that all people are deeply loved by God.

  • Sow seeds of generosity

    • We give generously, tithing or moving towards a tithe, because we serve a generous God who blesses us abundantly.

  • Rooted in Scripture

    • We root our lives daily in the Word of God because we believe that Scripture is relevant for us and is the authority of our lives.

  • Rooted in Prayer

    • We root our lives daily in prayer because we believe prayer works and God eagerly hears our prayers.

  • Rooted in community

    • We attend worship regularly and participate in a small group because we believe surrounding ourselves with the community of believers helps us to flourish.

  • Grow in love

    • We continually seek to grow in love for God and love for others as God is love.

  • Grow in service

    • We sacrificially serve our church, our city, and our world together because Jesus came to serve us first and we seek to be like Jesus.

  • Grow in maturity

    • We continue to grow in maturity of faith and knowledge as we pursue a life of Christ-likeness.

Rooted in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit, Wellington Methodist Church is a member of the Global Methodist Church.

We hold these core beliefs:

  • The one true God:

    • We believe in the triune God - Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit - who created and sustains all things.

  • Salvation through Jesus Christ:

    • We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and that we are saved by grace through faith in Him.

  • The authority of the Bible:

    • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our ultimate source of truth and authority for Christian faith and practice.

  • The importance of Christian living:

    • We believe in the importance of living a life transformed by Christ, demonstrating His love and grace through our actions.

  • The power of the Holy Spirit:

    • We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live a Christ-centered life, equipping us for ministry and service.

We invite you to explore our faith further and join us on this journey of following Jesus Christ.
