Jesus prayed, but Jesus prayed differently. Jesus fasted, but Jesus fasted differently. He didn’t do it like the religious people of his time. He didn’t conform to conventional wisdom or predictable patterns. And yet there is so much teaching out there on prayer and fasting filled with conventional wisdom and predictable patterns, seemingly paying no attention to Jesus. He taught extensively on prayer and fasting. He actually prayed nine different prayers and we have them all written down. He lived a secret life of prayer and fasting in public—before our very eyes. In this three week course we will sit together at his feet and learn from Him in ways both theological and practical, mysterious and ordinary, faith-filled and powerful.
